ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I want to practice critical curiosity. I challenge myself to look at the world from perspectives I didn’t know to exist. My works are political as personal is political, but my questions are asked in everyday level. Also, many good things happen out of accidence if I’m open to them.
Art is a selfish act to me. It gives me a reason to reach the people and the world: an attempt to belong. I work with sense of twisted humor, because when dealing with serious, big or overwhelming subject matter, it is very important to be able to laugh trough the tears.
My techniques vary according to the subject matter and theme I work with. I mostly use digital media, because non-linearity helps the work to develop in long term and hopefully lowers the material intensity (ecological backpack). My current work discusses with sense of security, safety and the other. How imaginary these concepts are and how do they affect us? The body of work contains many branches from RFID proof passport workshops to clear-cut reservation reality show and a touring stuffed reindeer.
